Deuce was a to-be freshman athlete in high school when his dad relocated the family. The relocation took the family from Naperville, IL, a Chicago suburb, to rural Michigan. More specifically, the "thumb" of Michigan. This story teaches us we are all unique in our own ways, but, where we come from does not matter. We all have a lot more in common than we would ever believe. Follow Deuce through his first high school football season. The book is currently offered in PDF only.
Deuce has completed his first season of football at Highfield as the freshman varsity quarterback. Follow Deuce through basketball season. See how Deuce and his friends deal with basketball season, social issues and students dealing with disabilities. Deuce 2 Bank Shot builds on the theme we all have a lot more in common than we would ever believe. The book is currently offered in PDF only.
The third rendering of Bruce Dunn's series featuring young student athlete Deuce McAllister takes us through a small town's Michigan prep baseball season. Dunn's fictional tale (I believe much of this is based on reality) of Deuce and his surrounding family, coaches, classmates, teammates, and community leaves the reader yearning for more of what should be commonplace - compassion, companionship, togetherness, kindness, empathy, love of family; simple right versus wrong values. In short, Dunn's writing is much less about sports as it is an awakening image of stark contrast. The author reminds us of what can be and still is in some circles - a fundamental human chain of uplifting support. It offers hope that a current malady of distrust and division permeating our nation can be healed. Oh, as for the basketball season - you gotta read to find out what happens in a riveting season. You won't get any the those results from me. A fun and meaningfully layered success. The book is currently offered in PDF only.
Deuce is wrapping up his freshman season of varsity baseball. He gets a summer job, takes drivers training and prepares for his sophomore year of high school. Follow Deuce through football season and how he and his friends deal with growing up, dealing with tough times and dealing with adversity. Deuce 4 builds on the theme we all have a lot more in common than we would ever believe. The book is currently offered in PDF only.
